Fuel weight is a major reason for this. In order to cross the Earth’s gravity, fuel missions have to be filled in huge quantities. Which in itself is quite expensive.
This space can later be used to launch other satellites. At the same time, the size of rockets used in space missions can also be reduced as per the requirement. In such a situation, the presence of water on the moon can be an important factor.
NASA wants to build a refueling station on the moon
For the more successful success of its space mission, NASA wants to build a single fueling station on the moon. But for this it is necessary that the ice on the moon is properly mined. If a refueling station is built on the moon, the cost of the space mission can be reduced by up to 20%.
Another major advantage of this is that space missions can also be sent from moon to another planet. NASA and SpaceX want to establish a human settlement on Mars. This requires that he successfully establish a refueling station on the moon. And from there send the space mission forward to Mars.
If NASA manages to set up a refueling station on the Moon, it will be able to successfully send long-range space missions. It can prove to be a milestone in the world of space.

So that people going into space can be landed on the moon. This lunar lander is named Blue Moon. The fuel requirements of this lander will be met by green hydrogen.
Blue Origin said in a statement that water is present in the form of a lot of ice on the moon. We will get oxygen and hydrogen by turning this ice into water. Which would later be used to refuel fuel into space. Electrolysis techniques will be used to separate hydrogen and oxygen from water present in the form of ice.
However, scientists have not yet been able to answer how the energy will be managed on the moon, in order to conduct the electrolysis technique properly.
NASA has designed a 5-year program for water mining on the Moon. For this, it has also tied up with its partner companies. NASA says that if we want to establish a human settlement on Mars, then it is necessary to use water in the form of ice on the Moon as fuel for space missions.
NASA will launch its first mission for ice mining on the moon next year. It is named Prime One. Apart from this, a Viper Rover will also be dispatched with this mission. Which will start the ice mining on the moon. However, it will start as a sample. This NASA rover will be mining ice on the dark part of the South Pole of the Moon.
If work progresses according to NASA’s action plan, by 2025, NASA will begin mining ice on the Moon. And 3 years after this, the production of water on the moon will start.
